Quick Start

Kittenblock version is 1.85, the latest offline version is 1.84z, and 1.85 is currently in the online public beta version. Some necessary operations are required to use it. (Now is March 2020)

Kittenblock usage process

Online mode :

(Please download Klink in "Download" section)

1.Download and Install Klink : Online hardware programming needs to start a process called Klink, plugins and other content are stored in local folders

2.After downloaded please extract klink_win.zip and double click to open Klink, and you can see that a process window is opened. Then log in to the online programming page:

3.Go to https://kblock.kittenbot.cn

The latest version is 1.85g (March 2020), if not, ctrl + F5 or F5 (Windows) / command + shift / R (Mac) will force the page to refresh

4.At this point, you can see the hardware appears under the hardware options. Select Powerbrick-> Serial

5.Successfully load the Microbit and Powerbrick building block columns.

6.Click Upgrade Firmware

7.Complete Upgrade Firmware "Flash done" then connect microbit board

  1. If the serial port is connected before, please disconnect and reconnect after restoring the firmware. The sign of successful connection is that the microbit dot matrix display shows Heart


Offline mode :

(Please download Kittenbot Program in "Download" section)

  1. Download Kittenblock Setup 1.8.4.exe and install program.
  2. Select hardware and upgrade firmware like Online mode
  • After the program is set up, click the code switch in the upper right corner to cut out the code box.
  • Click upload, burn the program into the microbit, and the microbit will runkitten
  1. Offline mode will not support different hardware building blocks or non-hardware building blocks such as AI part functions and Scratch stage character class functions, otherwise the corresponding position error will be reported, please judge for yourself

Programming Demo

The main purpose of hardware programming is to use a certain logic and operations to string together various data in order to achieve a specific function. Here is the simplest example: press the microbit button A or B, and let the microbit's LED dot matrix screen display A or B, respectively.

1.Block programming.

2.Switch to Coding.

3.Translate and upload program to microbit board.
